Vic and Colonel share a moment

  COLONEL

About 1962  -  2/16/99

This newsletter is very late because of the many problems that have been in my life. I feel like I have been going through the year from hell.

In January I noticed our old horse, Colonel, didn’t look right.  His cheek was quite swollen.  The vet said it was a benign tumor and not operable.  I got him an herbal remedy to shrink it, but he hated the taste and told me he would rather die than eat it.

By mid February the tumor had grown enough to keep him from eating.  He told me he was ready to go.  I honored his request, and he passed gently on.

My husband, Vic had been ill with cancer since October, and his condition was worsening each day.  In May the doctors told me that his cancer had spread to the brain and there was nothing they could do for him.  I brought him home to keep him comfortable, with Reiki and hospice care.  The Reiki kept him pain free until he died in June.

I have been asked if I have been able to contact Vic.  I have done so myself and through a psychic medium, Marianne.  We both got the same information.  I cannot tell you how comforting that is.

I had a bout with some nasty kind of flu in August, but now my life is starting to become more regulated and I have my work to keep me busy.  Life will never be the same, but it will continue.

Many of you knew of Vic’s illness and sent prayers and healing.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

ANITACURTIS.COM

While browsing the web please check out my website at www.anitacurtis.com  You will find information on workshops, lectures, and my books.  The current newsletter will be on the site along with an order form you can print out for my books and tape.  Unfortunately it has been difficult to keep the site updated with all the turmoil in 1999.  I hope to keep it more current in the new year.  Please e-mail any comments, questions, or suggestions at Amicom@aol.com.

  YOU KNOW YOU’RE A HORSE PERSON WHEN…..

You pull a $17,000 horse trailer with a $1,700 pickup truck.

You realize that finding a horse shoe truly is lucky because you’ve saved ten bucks.

You consider a pristine golf course as a waste of good pasture land.

Your horse gets new shoes more often than you.

You don’t mind throwing the frozen manure balls for the barn dog to fetch.

Your kids run through the house and you tell them to whoa.

You see the vet more than you see your child’s pediatrician.

On rainy days you organize the tack room, not the house.

Books and movies are ruined for you if horsemanship references are incorrect.

You’ve considered moving into the barn, since it is cleaner than the house.

Your horse seems the right choice when you need to talk something out with someone.

You know more about equine nutrition than human nutrition.

All your clothes have horsehair on them, even if they’ve never been worn to the barn.

You giggle when you’re braiding your horse’s tail and he/she passes wind in your face.

Every time you go to the stable, it takes 3 hours and you can’t imagine where the time went.

Your car is the only one in the company parking lot that has an inch of dust INSIDE and when you open the door, a swarm of flies emerge.

  Ain’t Horse Life Grand!!!

  THINGS DOGS HAVE TO REMEMBER

Do not suddenly stand up straight when lying under the coffee table.

Do not roll toys behind the fridge.

Do not eat the cats’ food, before or after they eat it.

Do not wipe my face on the sofa or Mom or Dad’s lap.

Do not snack from the kitty litter box.

Do not play tug-of-war with Dad’s underwear when he’s on the toilet.

Do not throw up in the car.

Do not chew crayons or pens, especially the red ones or my people will think I am hemorrhaging.

Do not stick my head in the refrigerator.

Do not bite the officer’s hand when he reaches in for Mom’s driver’s license and car registration.

  PHONE MESSAGE

If you call between 10am and 4pm, eastern, Monday-Friday and get our voice mail, please leave a message.  Jean is on a call helping another client and will call you back as soon as possible.

BRAG COLUMN

Please let us know about any experiences you have had talking with your animal friends for printing in future newsletters.

BENSON

It has been a year since my Newfoundland, Benson, passed away.  Shortly before he died my wife was communicating with him.  The following message is from Benson, who was a great old soul, and in the message he refers to our bond and relationship.

Benson to Sandy:

You have been a comfort, you love me.  I am not sick, I am not in pain.  I am old.  Those are things that must be accepted.  I have my pride, my integrity,  my honor to serve nobly.  Be strong.  I hope that I have taught Andrew well.  He has grown out of himself and honored the animal kingdom.

Oh, I am not going anywhere yet just let me phase gradually at my pace and time.  You will know and be there for me as I will always for you.  Journey well my friend, for it has been grand.

The yard has been my kingdom.  The breeze, the birds, the sound of you coming home always a joy, but you are tired too.  Just always remember me with peaceful loving thoughts - you two leggeds are so emotional!  Life is cyclical, evolving, never stopping, but so cyclical.

I like sleeping here.  Don’t be sad for me.  Half goes to another world and another place where I will eventually go.  You will too you know.

I like the other dogs.  I am the Elder.

            AW., Skippack, PA

  TINGLY, SCARY FEELINGS

There is a spot in front of our barn that make the horses spook, jump up and run forward.  We thought that it was just the horses with metal shoes but the ponies without shoes do the same thing.  My mom believes strongly in animal communications but the rest of my family is very skeptical so I usually keep my communications to myself.  I contacted Mona, one of the horses that I saw spook at it and she told me that when she walks over the spot she gets a tingly, scary feeling and sometimes it stings and stays in her legs.  That is why she kicks, to get it out of her legs.  I asked my dad if there were any electrical wires under the spot where the horses spook.  He said that there was an electrical box under the spot that had been reburied, but not as deep as it had originally been.  I told him that he should bury it deeper but he didn’t think it was necessary until my mom was leading in two horses and forgot about the spot.  She was walking a bit in front of Piper so that she could keep up with the other horse, Kayla.  When Piper walked over the spot, she jumped forward and almost ran my mom right down.  When my dad saw that it was that serious, he decided to bury the box deeper.  He thinks that the box is leaking electrical impulses that the horses can feel.  I was very proud to be able to help the horses using animal communications.

  CLEANING PRODUCTS

When using new (and old favorites that are new and approved) cleaning products,  sponges, etc.,  please take the time to read all the fine print.  There have been reports that some of the new antibacterial products may not be safe for use around birds, fish, or small animals.

    ANIMAL COMMUNICATION PRACTICE GROUPS

I am so excited that there are so many  practice groups starting up.  If you have taken an animal communication workshop (preferably mine!) please consider joining one or starting your own group.  The more practice you get the easier the communication will be.

PA-King of Prussia area

This group had its first meeting in January.  They are looking for more people to join them for fun and telepathy.  The meetings are held at the Herbal Sanctuary, 426 Fruit Farm Road, Royersford, PA.  Please call Candace Liccione at (610) 948-1196 for dates and directions.

DE-Wilmington area

There is an ongoing animal communications practice group in the Delaware area that meets monthly in a home of one of the members.  If you have taken an animal communication workshop, level 1 or higher, and are interested in attending a meeting, please call Lorelei Hunt at (302) 322-8650 for more information.

If you have taken both the Level I and Level II workshops and are not able to join a support group, Rita Bowman has started a phone and/or e-mail support group.  For more information, please contact Rita Bowman in the evenings or weekends at (717) 738-1414 or e-mail to rbowman@dande.com.

CALL FOR STORIES ABOUT THE CREEPING PEOPLE

Joanne Lauck is trying to help heal the relationship between insects (and other multi-legged creeping creatures) and people.  Her first book The Voice of the Infinite in the Small:  Revisioning the Insect-Human Connection (August, 1998) investigate the “official story” about insects-especially pest species- and reveals how and why our hostility is passed to each generation under the guise of education and science.  She also includes in the book many stories of other cultures who felt friendly toward these creatures as well as contemporary tales of insect-human communion and cooperation.  Now she is asking for creeping creatures stories of kinship, communication and right relationship for possible inclusion in a second book.  Please send to her at 1724 Alberta Avenue, San Jose, CA  95125 or Fax to her at (408) 266-2843, or e-mail her at Jleafhobbs@aol.com.

OF GENERAL INTEREST

I sometimes forget that not all the readers of my newsletter are clients and that we have added new services as this business evolves.  Listed below is a brief description of the services we now offer.

Consultations - $20.00/15 min.

These consultations are all done over the telephone. I can help many more animals in a shorter amount of time this way.  It is also less distracting for the animal to be in his own home environment.

Tape recording - $5.00/tape

A tape recording of your consultation is entirely optional. If you decide you don’t want the tape after having your consultation recorded, you just don’t send the extra $5.00.

Workshops - $85.00 and up

The workshop fees can vary because of travel costs, space rental, and lunches provided.

Lectures - no fee

I do not charge for lectures because I feel it is important to reach as many people as possible to promote animal communications.  Sponsors of the lecture may charge admission as a fundraising event.  I do gratefully accept reimbursement for travel expenses.

Books & Video tape- see below + $2.00 ship./item &  PA tax for PA residents.

Animal Wisdom  $11.95

How to Hear the Animals $18.00

A kit with “how to” instructions and meditations.

The Psychic Connection  $15.00

A video of interviews with animal communicators featuring Anita Curtis, Carol Gurney, Lydia Hiby, Beatrice Lydecker, Penelope Smith, and Teresa Wagner.

Flower Essences - $10.00 + $3.00 shipping.

If you are unable to find flower essences in your area we are able to provide these for you.  They can be mixed to suit your needs.  You might be interested in a line of flower essences carried by Equilite that are designed especially for either small animals or horses.  Call 800 942 LITE for more information.

Gift Certificates - variable

We can provide gift certificates for consultations (w/wo tape), workshops, books, flower essences, virtually any service we provide.

PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS

I receive many photos from clients of their animal friends and I would like to share them with you. I purchased a scanner a while back, but did not have  much time to learn how to use it.  I started playing with it recently and thought it might be fun to put some of the photos that would make you smile into the newsletter.

Starting with this newsletter we will be printing a few of the photos that we receive.  If you have a cute photo you would like to share, please mail it to us.  Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that your photo will be printed.  Please don’t send any original photos to insure that we don’t lose your only copy.  We can’t take that kind of guilt!!!!!  If you would like the photo returned, please send a self-addressed envelope and we will do our best to return it to you.

Please label the picture with your name, the name of your animal friend or friends in the picture, and any caption you would like printed.
